Plasmatics Solo Works & Side Projects
This page is devoted to all of the solo works and side projects that the members of the Plasmatics engaged in, both during and after the band's existence. If you have any corrections, additions, or any info on projects by other Plasmatics members, drop me a line! For Wendy O. Williams solo work see the WOW Discography.
Richie Stotts
- King Flux - This was a project of Richie Stotts after the breakup of the Plasmatics in 1985. King Flux's first incarnation consisted of Richie on guitar, Andy and Billy Hilfiger (Trivia: Andy and Billy are younger brothers of fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger!), and Marky Ramone on drums. Apparently, they also played out under the name "Hill-Fire." A variety of other people played with the band throughout it's short existence including Chris "Junior" Romanelli on Bass, Christopher Bell on guitar, and Tony Petri (from Twisted Sister) and Albert Bouchard of Blue Oyster Cult on drums. I'd appreciate any corrections anyone can give me as to the proper lineups.
- "The Man with the X-Ray Eyes" - This was the only vinyl release by King Flux, a 7" single. The B-Side consisted of the song "1944". The lineup on the single was Richie Stotts on Guitar and Vocals, Chris "Junior" Romanelli on Bass, and Albert Bouchard on Drums. Richie produced the single, it was released by the American Gothic Record Company, and distributed by Dutch East India.
Jean has been prolific in the music business since leaving the Plasmatics. He has released 2 solo albums since his departure, and has continued in the music business in a variety of different bands. The listing below is an incomplete, and brief, synopsis of his work. For more information on Jean, check out his website and the Crown of Thorns website. Please note that, other than the albums listed below, Jean also produced the 1987 Ramones Animal Boy album, and appeared (along with Richie Stotts) in their "Something to Believe In" video. Another production work was for the band From The Fire. In addition, Jean
Beauvoir played a majority of the bass tarcks on KISS' 1984 album,
Animalize. I guess this was a trade-off since Gene was busy making movies and helping Wendy with the W.O.W. album. He also co-wrote the song "Thrills In The Night" with Paul Stanley on Animalize as well.
